Pastor Justin serves as the Lead Pastor of Thrive Church with a deep sense of calling and a strong commitment to both spiritual and community leadership.

Justin grew up in the small town of Hermantown, MN, just outside of Duluth. As a pastor’s kid, ministry was never in his plans—in fact, it was the path he actively avoided. But during his senior year of high school, God shifted his heart in a powerful and unmistakable way, calling him to pastoral ministry. That supernatural calling from the Lord changed everything.

Justin received a Pastoral Studies degree from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN, and began full-time ministry shortly after graduation. Alongside his theological training, he also served professionally as a certified Mental Health Practitioner in the state of Minnesota. This unique combination of ministry and mental health experience has shaped his approach to pastoring— teaching shaped by biblical truth but also understanding a different perspective of people. Both affect every conversation, sermon, and relationship.

In 2011, Justin married his college sweetheart, Allison. Together, they’re raising three amazing children—ranging from newborn to pre-teen—and are committed to building a Christ-centered home.

Justin is deeply invested in the Pelican Rapids community. Besides being an active member of the PR Ministerial Association, PR Food Shelf board, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Justin has served in various groups, including the Multicultural Committee board and other community initiatives.

Whether preaching on Sundays, helping families navigate life’s challenges, or collaborating with local leaders, Pastor Justin leads with conviction, compassion, and a clear sense that God has placed him in Pelican Rapids for such a time as this.
